Bueno

Head Program Director

Hey everybody! My name is Nicole VanderMeulen, but you can call me Bueno this summer! I got this name from when I was on a mission trip in the Dominican Republic. It means "well" or "good" in Spanish, and it was my favourite word (and only word I knew how) to say and is a symbol of God's faithfulness during my time there. I am super excited to serve as the Head Program Director at Campfire this summer. You can find me running around camp, getting big games prepared, making camp bracelets, or playing a game of tetherball.

When not at Campfire, I study Psychology at Redeemer University. There you'll find me studying for midterms, writing papers, spending one-on-one time with good friends, or playing sports. I have one more year left of University, and then I hope to pursue a Master's Degree in Psychology.

I am pumped to be at camp this summer. I've been to Campfire as a camper for many, many, many years, I've been a counsellor, and now I get to serve on staff! Narrowing down my favourite things about Campfire is impossible, but I will try my best! The slow mornings on the porch with the smell of breakfast looming in the air, the smell of fresh layers of sunscreen on the campers, Big Games, water runs at Wasaga, talent night, campfires, and singing to God's glory at Chapel.
